NIKE FREE-INSPIRED DESIGN
Developed with insights from elite golfer Suzann Pettersen, the Nike FI Impact Women's Golf Shoe features a flexible Nike Free-inspired outsole to unleash the full power of your swing.
The Nike Free-inspired outsole is designed to mimic and conform to the natural movement of your foot. It offers increased flexibility and full athletic motion by allowing you to keep contact with the ground longer, better harnessing the energy of the foot to the shoe and, therefore, the shoe to the ground. The result is more control and power with every shot.
The Dynamic Fit system cradles your foot for an adaptive, glove-like fit. It consists of soft fingers that wrap underneath the arch and integrate with the laces, delivering great lockdown and support that moves with you.
Integrated traction provides low-profile stability, maximum ground feel and comfort.
- Waterproof ripstop mesh upper with TPU overlays for breathable comfort and durability
NIKE FI IMPACT ORIGINS
Suzann Petterson teamed up with Nike to develop the first Nike Free-inspired golf shoe for women, incorporating technology from the innovative Nike TW '13. A longtime advocate of traditionally spiked shoes, Petterson quickly realized she could harness as much power without the removable spikes. "After I tried them once, I was dying to get them on my feet in competition," expressed Petterson. "I can really feel the ground and the increase in power through my swing."
NIKE FREE ORIGINS
After learning that Stanford athletes had been training barefoot on the university's golf course, three of Nike's most innovative and creative employees set out to develop a shoe that felt natural and weightless, similar to bare feet. In 2002, they examined a group of men and women with pressure-measuring insoles taped to their feet, using high-speed cameras to capture images of each foot in motion.
The team spent eight years studying the biomechanics of shoeless running. The results yielded a profound understanding of the foot's natural landing angle, pressure and toe position, allowing Nike designers to build an unconventional and flexible running shoe from the inside out.
